Meet LGIAsuper Community Volunteer Award Finalist, Emily

As proud partners of the Queensland Young Achiever Awards, we’re consistently amazed by the achievements of our state’s youth. With the gala event just over a month away, we’ll be profiling each finalist in the LGIAsuper Community Volunteer Award category. This week, we take a look at 17-year-old Emily Ireland of Robina.

Meet Emily Ireland

After hiking the Kokoda Track with double the recommended pack weight to provide gifts to local villagers, Emily Ireland showed she was more than capable of going the extra mile to help others. As winner of the Premier’s ANZAC Prize in 2015, Emily also travelled to the battlefields of France to commemorate ‘100 years of ANZAC.’

Emily received a Gold Community Service Award for 1,000 hours of community service in a single year and was the recipient of the Gold Coast Women in Business Rising Star Award.

Recently, Emily was selected to carry the Queen’s Baton through her home suburb of Robina on the Gold Coast. She has been nominated for the 2018 Queensland People’s Choice Award at the Queensland Young Achiever Awards.
