Nicky has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry with previous experience as a life insurance adviser and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Brighter Super. Since joining the Brighter Super team in 2022, Nicky has been instrumental in developing and enhancing the adviser offering, ensuring all advisers have access to the tools and resources needed to provide the best possible adviser and member experience.

Nicky holds an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and is committed to ongoing professional development and excellence.

Outside of work, you’ll often find Nicky running around Brisbane training for her next marathon as she works her way to completing the six World Majors.

Sean holds an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and is qualified as a Commissioner for Declarations.

Sean is a football tragic, and when he’s not kicking the round ball around, he’ll be busy watching the Spurs.

James has 7 years’ experience in financial services across retail banking, insurance, superannuation and advice. James holds a Masters in International Business and a Bachelor of Education.

Ryan Murphy - DipFP

Business Development Manager

Ryan has an extensive background in financial advice, across business development, client engagement and previously as a financial adviser.

Ryan loves to help financial advisers and super funds grow through clear education and strategic support, running educational sessions and strategy workshops, and providing hands‑on implementation support. Ryan is driven to improve members’ retirement outcomes and remove friction so advisers can focus on great client care.

Ryan is sports‑mad — from cricket to both codes of rugby, AFL and motorsport; an early adopter of new technologies who enjoys sim‑racing, cars and spending time with my family.

Outside of work you will find Carissa at Suncorp Stadium cheering on the Brisbane Broncos, at the gym or enjoying time with family and friends.

With close to 20 years of experience across banking and superannuation, Doreen is dedicated to delivering tailored and efficient service that supports members in achieving their retirement goals.

Known for a strong commitment to acting in members’ best interests, she takes pride in building meaningful relationships and guiding members toward confident financial futures.

Outside of work, Doreen enjoys immersing in nature and finding quiet moments through hiking, bird watching and finds balance by spending meaningful time with close friends and family—whether it's sharing a meal, exploring the outdoors together, or simply enjoying good conversation.
