Epic Retirement Tick

Brighter Super earns the Epic Retirement Tick for the second year in a row.

Brighter Super has received the 2026/27 Epic Retirement Tick, recognising the support offered to help members prepare for and live confidently in retirement.

It’s the second year in a row Brighter Super has received the Tick and this year, the standard was even higher.

A higher standard for retirement support

The Epic Retirement Tick was developed by retirement educator Bec Wilson’s Epic Retirement Institute and is powered by independent super research firm Chant West.

It looks beyond investment returns to assess how well super funds support members as they approach and move through retirement.

This year, the assessment expanded from 18 to 20 criteria, covering key areas:

  • Product design and investments
  • Performance and fees
  • Education, guidance and advice
  • Service delivery

Funds needed to demonstrate a high standard of support across the assessment criteria to receive the 2026/27 Tick, with the benchmark increasing this year.

Brighter Super was one of eight funds to earn the 2026/27 Epic Retirement Tick, following an assessment of 45 APRA-regulated super funds. Brighter Super met 15 of the 20 available Ticks – the equal-highest result among the funds assessed – up from 13 of 18 last year.

For members, the Tick recognises that Brighter Super meets a high standard across the products, advice, tools and services that can help them prepare for and enjoy retirement.

Where Brighter Super performed strongly

The report recognised Brighter Super for:

  • Competitive long-term investment performance and administration fees
  • A pre-mixed retirement investment strategy designed to provide a mix of growth and stability
  • A broad range of advice support, from help with simpler questions through to more comprehensive advice
  • Giving Pension members the ability to complete most important transactions online
  • Strong service across account setup and changes, the contact centre and payments
  • Strong cyber security and fraud prevention, supported by external certification

These areas can make a real difference when you are planning your retirement, setting up a retirement income or managing your money once you have retired.
