Brighter Super Trustee Board appointment

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Cameron O’Neil to the Trustee Board of Directors. Councillor O’Neil was nominated by the Local Government Association of Queensland Ltd (LGAQ) as the replacement Employer Representative Director for the retiring Mark Jamieson.

Following a rigorous assessment process, the Brighter Super Trustee Board approved the appointment of Cameron O’Neil on 4 March 2025.

Cameron was a Brighter Super employer representative director from 2016 – 2022 and a director of SPSL Limited, the former trustee of the SPSL Master Trust from 2022 – 2023.

Cameron is Deputy Mayor of the Maranoa Regional Council and has been a councillor since 2012. Cameron has extensive experience on several Boards, as well as State and Federal Government Advisory Committees.

He is a non-executive director of Golden West Apprenticeships and Chair of Country Universities Centre Maranoa. Cameron holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Animal Studies (Animal Production) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Cameron is passionate about the needs of regional members and of younger members and has a great interest and experience in Governance and Strategy. Cameron is looking forward to making his personal contribution to the Brighter Super Trustee Board.
