LGIAsuper achieves Platinum Rating for the 13th consecutive year

LGIAsuper awards - February 2021

Published 17 February 2021

Queensland superannuation fund LGIAsuper has defied superstitions about the number 13 achieving a ‘Platinum’ rating on its Accumulation and Pension products for the 13th year running1. For the eighth year in a row, the MySuper Lifecycle option (launched in January 2014) also received a Platinum rating for the MySuper category.

Independent superannuation research and consulting company SuperRatings has recognised LGIAsuper for being ‘a best value for money’ fund that is well balanced across all key assessment criteria -  investments, fees and charges, insurance, member servicing and administration in a robust, secure and proven governance/risk framework.

LGIAsuper CEO Kate Farrar said LGIAsuper did not owe its success to luck, but rather to “a range of improvements to our member experiences and processes that are creating a better and more relevant fund for our members.”

“This year’s 13th consecutive ‘Platinum’ rating was particularly exciting, as it showed that even in a year of volatility, we were able to continue to deliver for our members,” Ms Farrar said.

LGIAsuper’s service were also acknowledged by research company Chant West, which awarded the fund a ‘5 Apple’ rating for both its Accumulation and Pension accounts1.

As the highest rating awarded by Chant West, the ‘5 Apple’ accolade indicates that LGIAsuper is a super fund of the ‘highest quality’, based on an assessment of the fund’s investment performance, member services, fees, insurance and organisational strength.

Ms Farrar said the fund’s achievements reflected its profit-for-members approach.

“We pride ourselves on being member-driven and results-focused. Our achievements in 2020 help prove that this is what produces the best member outcomes,” Ms Farrar said.
“We will continue to keep the interests of our members at the heart of every decision we make as we head into 2021 with our recent ratings and awards behind us.”
